Learning from Tokyo

Markus Schaefer and Hiromi Hosoya wrote the introductory essay to issue 208 of Arch+ “Die Stadt bewohnen”. The essay describes urban phenomena in Tokyo, sets them into their historic and planning context and distills strategies for an urbanism of the future valid also for the European city.

The issue was a collaboration between the editorial team at Arch+ and the Learning from Tokyo group: Hiromi Hosoya, Markus Schaefer, Ryoko Ikeda, Sasha Cisar and Mitsuhiro Kanada.
