MobiGlobe is a staged research platform for the Autostadt in Wolfsburg addressing issues of global mobility.
Hosoya Schaefer Architects teamed up with Shiftcontrol, Copenhagen, and Büro Destruct, Bern, to create a media installation in the form of interactive data terminals. The research and graphic work of Hosoya Schaefer, renowned for their mapping projects, is brought to life in 2- and 3-D game engines. These illustrate topics in 48 sections like “Highway City” or “Oil World” and attempt to explain the connection between individual action and global effects.
This long-term project was opened in 2006. Since then, it has been renewed and expanded several times.
