Concept: Innovation Park Zurich (IPZ) embodies the idea that intelligence thrives on networking—whether among brain neurons, researchers, public spaces, or AI networks. It fosters environments for learning, innovation, stability, and spontaneous idea generation through interconnected spaces.

Mobility Hub (MHUB): This landmark integrates mobility, energy, logistics, and a bistro. While its functions may change due to rapid tech advancements and slower vehicle fleet evolution, the hub currently emphasizes space-efficient parking and future adaptability. Key features include a concrete skeleton with modular floor slabs, maximizing parking through split-level design and efficient access. The hub hosts 656 parking spaces (expandable to 722), with a mezzanine terminal and a rooftop for additional parking and photovoltaic panels.

FLEX Building: Designed for open, collaborative work akin to early Silicon Valley garages, FLEX fosters innovation through adaptable spaces. Its ground floor is a versatile, column-free hall supporting diverse interactions. The building employs a minimal load-bearing system with flexible wooden columns and tension rods, accommodating various configurations. Two elevator cores, serving as earthquake bracing, are flexible and independently positioned, clad in polycarbonate and metal. Standard floors can house labs, offices, or classrooms with open façades and loggias. Key features include public-use areas, a canteen, green spaces, decentralized building tech, and a CO2-optimized wood-concrete hybrid system for rapid, cost-efficient construction.

Both structures promote flexibility, sustainability, and networking, aligning with IPZ’s vision of fostering innovation through intelligent design.
