With Building A03, the “high-rise” at the intersection of Weseler Strasse and Kolde-Ring in Münster, a highly visible structure is emerging—one that, with its radiance and presence, serves as a landmark project for a forward-thinking yet contextual architectural culture. The goal is to develop an urban, sustainable, and iconic city landmark that symbolically represents the entire monastery site and the values of LVM.

The volume of the high point is derived from the building alignments of the surrounding structures. By continuing the building line seamlessly, a simple spatial configuration is created that both integrates into the perimeter block and defines a distinctive approach to the corner situation. Despite its straightforward and efficient geometry, the volume appears iconic and is perceived differently depending on the viewpoint. The building acts as a mediator between different scales—both within the neighborhood itself and in relation to the diverse surrounding development.

The clearly structured façade reflects the scale of the Kloster site, merging contextual building tradition with innovation and sustainability while making them visibly tangible. The ventilated, prefabricated artificial stone façade, composed of aggregates similar to terrazzo, adopts the color palette of the monastery while maintaining a distinct identity. By offsetting the horizontal and vertical stone elements, a woven-like structure emerges, interlacing the office grid with the green loggias.

The striking, two-story, lushly planted loggias emphasize the verticality of the volume and reinforce its prominence within the urban fabric of the monastery site. The structural framework, designed as a hybrid timber-composite system, remains exposed and forms a key part of the building’s overall expression. To further activate the façade for energy generation, the prefabricated window elements are equipped with photovoltaic (PV) modules positioned in front of the openings, simultaneously serving as weather protection.

The two-story base, housing conference areas, reception, and gastronomy, presents itself as an inviting and generous gesture. The sectional interplay of the ground floor incorporates increased ceiling heights and the level difference between the street and inner courtyard, enhancing its spatial generosity.

The office floors are designed for efficiency and adaptability, offering a high degree of flexibility. The two-story green loggias create added value at different levels,
