A comprehensive test planning process was launched by the Swiss Network with Ukraine (SNU) in 2025, in partnership with the City of Lviv and the City and Canton of Zurich, to invite proposals for a shared vision and future masterplan for Lviv North. Five interdisciplinary teams of Ukrainian and European planners, architects, and engineers, worked develop a long-term vision for one of the city’s largest future development areas. The proposals were presented at the 2026 Lviv Urban Forum, which included an exhibition of the projects.
Together with ATO-Bel Architects, our project for Lviv approaches post-war reconstruction as an opportunity to strengthen resilience, democratic governance, and social cohesion through urban design. Following the third workshop and conclusion of the test planning phase, the projects will form the basis for a shared vision and future masterplan for Lviv North – providing a replicable model for sustainable and resilient post-war urban reconstruction in Ukraine.
