The Senate of Berlin has approved the framework plan for the new “Stadteingang West” urban quarter, based on the masterplan developed following the 2023 competition win. On approximately 45 hectares between Westkreuz and Grunewald, around 2,400 housing units will be created, complemented by educational, commercial, and open green spaces. The central site is the former Grunewald freight yard, where the state-owned Howoge will deliver affordable housing.
The framework plan provides the basis for subsequent planning and construction processes. We look forward to the next steps and the first pilot projects.
Further information on the framework plan is available on the website of the Berlin Senate Chancellery.
