One of the most important (and ambitious) tasks of urban transformation and climate adaptation is creating better streets.
Therefore Team Hosoya Schaefer Architects with BRYUM GMBH and TEAMverkehr.zug ag are pleased to announce that our spatial design concept for the Seetalstrasse in Emmen – as the result of a design study (Testplanung) – was chosen for further development!
The concept foresees redesigning & relocating the street to the front of the Emmen Shopping Center, creating space for a green park for the Meierhöfliquartier and its inhabitants. The street is slowed down and subdivided into several parts with distinct qualities, while the Hochdorferstrasse becomes a new pedestrian shopping connection between Emmen Station and the Shopping Center.
The project was accompanied by Metron, re.ell AG and Han Van de Wetering, who then adapted our spatial concept into a synthesis plan. The concept is on the other hand based on the Stadtraumkonzept Emmen by Atelier Van de Wetering, so it was kind of like a give-and-go pass (Doppelpass) in planning!
Special thanks to the design team Michael Oser and Theresa Friedrich, Oscar Merlo and Flavio Poletti, Urs Küng, Pia Hartmann and Damjan Kokalevski, as well as the organizers Gemeinde Emmen with, among others, Christine Bopp and Enzo Gemperli and Kanton Luzern with Cüneyd Inan.
