June 6th 2015 was the opening day of the acclaimed UP express project in Toronto (Canada) whose train stations were under the creative lead of Hosoya Schaefer Architects. For the four new train station developments Hosoya Schaefer Architects developed an architectural concept in close cooperation with Winkreative (London) and the interior and retail specialists MACH (Zürich), which was implemented by a team of local architects. Before the opening of the project on June 6th, the project was already awarded twice “project of the year” at the Global Air Rail Awards in 2013 and 2014.
Monocle magazine writes (June 2015, Christopher Frey): “Set to revolutionize Toronto’s transport network, new air-rail connection UP Express is made to be business-traveller friendly. And with an aesthetic influenced by the Canadian landscape and some sharp uniforms, it looks the part, too.”
