Markus Schaefer gave the final presentation at the Summer Academy “From Suburb to City” in Zürich. The two-week-long International Summer Academy Zurich was open to students as well as professionals worldwide. It was organized by the group Krokodil with the support of the department of architecture at the ETH Zürich.
Well-known architects from Switzerland and other countries examined the themes of agglomeration/city/landscape using the example of the Zurich metropolitan area. The vision “Glatt – the City” produced by the Architects Group Krokodil for a new city near Zurich provided the conceptual basis.
The event was be accompanied by a broad range of public lectures and discussions involving architects, planners, economists, politicians and representatives of public authorities.
