Lecture at the Joint Alumni Conference (JAC) on the occasion of the dinner hosted by the Fulbright Alumni Association. “The Joint Alumni Conference (JAC) representing the world’s leading business schools exists to connect alumni and faculty from first-class academic institutions to explore the strategies and skills that will define and shape the future of world business.” The conference took place in Zürich on September 30 at the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue.
Invited as a Fulbright Alumni from Harvard University Markus Schaefer gave a lecture with the title the “Business of Cities“: “We live in the Urban Millennium. Rapid urbanization defines new business areas and makes us think of cities as products. But are the “smart cities” which are now being developed truly sustainable? Looking back on 8000 years of urbanism, business might not change our perception of cities, but rather cities could change our understanding of business.”
